Adrift

Straining my neck to peer beyond the next engulfing wave,

The surf swelling-it doesn’t look like I’ll be saved.

Chains wrapped ’round my head and down,

I’m sure my debris will not be found.

Awaiting rescue here another day I paddle,

Around the sinking feeling that all are lost.

When will the dream be over,

And the salvage show the priceless cost.

Understanding now I won’t reach that distant shore,

I really don’t want to go there anymore.

My wish is that I had remained forever by your side,

Together we could have fought the rising tide.

Forever my love will be around you,

My love, don’t let the sorrow drown you.

I humbly dedicate this poem to all the lost, lonely and grieving of flight 370…may you find peace—

I
